Three years ago we were frantically searching for answers to our fourth grade daughter’s struggles. She was struggling much too hard to learn to read, write, and spell. No one at her elementary school seemed to have the answers, nor an approach that could help her learn to read like her peers. We were at a point of panic, not understanding what the problem was.
One day we happened on a website, Bright Solutions, and began to read about symptoms that sounded much like our daughter’s issues. We also learned that Cheryl Anthony was qualified to test for these issues and lived in our area.
We soon hired Cheryl to test our daughter. Her diagnosis concluded that Madeline was struggling with severe dyslexia. What an emotional relief to finally have the answers we were looking for and a name for our precious girl’s struggles! Cheryl saved our lives! The diagnosis put us on a path that has changed all of our lives.
Our daughter soon started tutoring with Cheryl. Madeline’s whole personality began changing. She became more confident and began understanding what it means to be dyslexic. Madeline expressed that Cheryl was pleasant to work with and made learning the new way easy. Madeline explains now that she knows that it is okay to have dyslexia. She understands that she just needs to use specific tools to make spelling, reading, and writing less difficult… and school has become easier.
We wonder sometimes what life would have been like without the help Cheryl has provided our family through testing, tutoring, and support. We believe that without the professional guidance Cheryl has been able to give our family, the picture at middle school would be very different than what we are currently seeing. We’re grateful that Cheryl came into our lives and would recommend her services to others looking for answers to the struggle their child may be having in learning to read, write, and spell.
